Sunday Notes and Links

This weeks favorite
This week’s favorite fountain pen and ink combination is my Pelikan M805 Stresemann with Montblanc Bordeaux. I had been skipping over this pen and ink more than I thought. It was inked back in mid-July and while used regularly it only short term each time. With other pens having been written dry this one is getting more use.

Some links of interest…

Danitrio Sho-Hakkaku Ki-Dame Tamenuri: A Review — The Pen Addict // Beautiful pen, surprised to hear they were local (US), doubly surprised to hear the buying process was so frustrating.

Transaction costs — Fountain Pen Economics // Another good article by Dr. Deans. Information certainly is more available today. As mentioned, Goulet Pens has a lot to do with it. While I’ve been using a fountain pen for over a dozen years, it wasn’t until I started reading and viewing the stuff Brian Goulet was doing that I really became addicted. Also, in case you miss it in the article, the Pennaquod search engine is a great source. There’s been a link at the bottom of every Sunday Notes and Links post for the past few months. Check it out.

Pilot Twilight Vanishing Point (2015 Limited Edition) – No Pen Intended // An early view of a beautiful pen if you like blue. I don’t, so it was easy to pass on this one. Although the gradient to dark purple is intriguing.

Hobonichi Accessories — Three Staples // I pass on any covers or accessories for my Hobonichi, but I can see the allure.

The Verdict: TWSBI ECO with J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor – From the Pen Cup // Two products with a lot of recent buzz

Planner Subscription Services – The Well-Appointed Desk // I didn’t know such things existed.

Pen Review: Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Maxi — The Purl Bug (video) // This pen is recently back on my radar although the price is an obstacle. The video also raises a few potential issues so it’s more likely to be a in person purchase so I can try it out. Also, I might pick the Steel version over the Bronze although the tarnished bronze may take the edge off the gold and be very nice. But still, I want one.

SFPL Pen Meet, Oct 2015 – On Fountain Pens // There’s always a lot of fountain pen activity in Singapore.

My Moleskine Daily – September Flip-Through | – Scribbles and Stationery // This puts my notebooks to shame.

Pilot Prera Fountain Pen – Pete Denison // Thorough review of a pen I have but never really took to using it, mainly because of the size.
