I ended September with 15 fountain pens inked and I’m beginning November with 11 fountain pens inked up. While the number of inked pens has dropped there’s also been a good turnover in pens so some new pens and inks are in use. Seven pens were written dry and returned to the case while another has different ink. This made room for the Conway Stewart and a second sailor Pro Gear to join the rotation.
There’s not any new ink in this batch. In fact, I really stuck with inks I like and I know behave well. In fact, two pens have my favorite – Montblanc Bordeaux. Sheaffer Gray is my least favorite ink of the bunch. I like gray inks but the Sheaffer Gray is just so-so, which explains why I haven’t used the Sheaffer Aspen as much as I would expect.
The Pelikan is almost dry, just whatever ink is in the feed. I’ll probably retire it for a bit to give some other pens a chance.
As usual, the Easterbrook Dip-less isn’t pictured (follow the link for photos). Otherwise, the pens are in the same order as the writing samples.
