Edison Huson Grande Favorite Fountain Pen - October 31, 2015 with Montblanc Boardeaux inside

This week’s favorite fountain pen and ink combination was my Edison Huron Grande with Montblanc Bordeaux ink. It did have an unfair advantage. I spent most of the week working at my desk at home and mostly on the computer. When I did need a pen the big & beautiful Edison was right there at hand, and I didn’t even consider another fountain pen. The Montblanc Bordeaux ink that was inside it certainly didn’t hurt it’s chances. Because it’s not a convenient carry pen it often gets ignored, but it was nice to use it so consistently.

Platinum Carbon Pen – Sketch and Review – Pens! Paper! Pencils! // A pen and I have and kind of liked for the reasons mentioned in the review (both pros and cons). It sits unused now because I have other desk pens I like better plus the pen is a little skinny for my current tastes.

The Pelikan M600 Pink Special Edition Fountain Pen: A Review — The Pen Addict // A nice looking pen although I agree with Susan’s comments about the marketing since I tend to be turned of by any marketing so over the top.

Vintage Pen News: Sheaffer demonstrator packing unit – Vintage Pen News // Trying to take apart one of these pens is beyond my ability, still interesting to see the insides.

Ask The Readers: Broad Nibs for the Vision Impaired – The Well-Appointed Desk // A well-timed question as I’m currently looking through my fountain pens for one with the broadest line for someone to try. My options are limited since I prefer thin nibs, but there are some good options in both the article and the comments.

[Sailor Limited Edition Rhapsodie( – Calligraphy Nut] // A nice pen, plus some options to buy “Japan only” pens and inks for those of us not in Japan.

Delta Drama — Fountain Pen Economics // Interesting info that I had not heard about. Even though it doesn’t affect the US directly, I would be reconsidering buying a Delta pen if any were on my want list. It does appear to be the beginning of a death spiral for the company. It sounds like they didn’t think care about European retailers, so I can’t believe US and other non-European retailers would promote Delta or carry a lot of inventory going forward.

The beginning of the month usually brings load out posts which I really enjoy. It’s a bit early but there’s been a couple…

Monthly Load Out: November 2015 — Gorgeous.Ink // While the nibs aren’t for me, I like this selection. The current load-out includes the Tiger Red F-C Model 20 of which I have, and love, although I have the clip-less version. The pens he wrote dry include 3 that are among my favorites (well, except for those big nibs).
