Currently Inked – April 2017

It’s been a hectic month so I won’t be writing much about the pens I used but I did want to post my currently inked pens. The Visconti Brunelleschi is a new pen and I’m liking it a lot so far, although it’s still on its first fill. I hope to have a first impressions post up soon.

As usual, the photos are in the same order as the writing samples.

  1. I hadn’t paid attention to the Brunelleschi since other Viscontis interest me more. But seeing your pictures of ypur pens uncapped, it appears the Brunelleschi is the same pen as the Homo Sapiens Bronze Age, minus decorative rings. Is it really the same?

    • Hi Michael,
It is very similar in size and weight and it is the same nib. The cap is ever so slightly slimmer. I have a sleeve the HS doesn’t really fit in (have to fight to get it out of the sleeve due to the cap) while the Brun. slides in and out OK. But uncapped they appear identical except for the color and engraving details, the rings all line up.The material has a slightly different feel to it, a bit smoother, although that may change after use. The specs I saw indicated a minor variation in weight (about 1g difference I think) but it’s not noticeable.
